It’s easy to fall into the trap of waiting to do something until you feel like you’re “ready”, have reached some level of proficiency, or cleared some other arbitrary prerequisite.

The fact is you just have to do it. Do it, badly, over and over again until it’s less bad. Eventually it’ll be good.

Also, doing something is different than being something. I’ve been a father for 8 years and a married for almost 11. Ay improvements in either area have come from the times I’m actively engaged with practicing one of those things. The tenure itself means little.
