Back in July I wrote a quick story about a sunset run in Edinburgh and I’ve now managed to cobble together a few words for a 2nd post about the trip that spanned nearly a month in England and Scotland. At this rate I’ll have fodder for years of blogging!

I took the photo above near Loch Coruisk on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. My daughter, Piper, and I took a short boat ride from Elgol to do some hiking around the loch and found this gorgeous wildflower. It just so happened to match the fuchsia of Piper’s jacket perfectly.
We spent a couple of hours walking and exploring the mountainous landscape, basking on the rocks and listening to sea birds. Piper was an eager participant in my photography endeavors, happily posing for shot after shot as I tried to capture the feeling of the majestic surroundings.

Skye was a challenging place to travel with kids, but is magical in part because of those challenges. It felt about as close to the edge of the world as anywhere we’ve been and that experience is worth the effort.
