I saw a brilliant red cardinal from my kitchen window this morning. The spark of color jumped out at me and I stared in appreciation for a few moments.
Then I noticed the grass. The cardinal was standing in a field of emerald green grass. The sheer amount of green dwarfed the small bird, and its color was no less intense.
Most times, though, I only see the cardinal.
Cardinals are great. But don’t forget to take a few moments and appreciate the grass.
