A book that’s blurbed by Seth Godin, Joe Lieberman, Big Papi David Ortiz, and Brad Stevens has to be good right? I mean, how the heck did the authors get all these people on board?
As it turns out, Not Today by Erica and Mike Schultz is indeed a dense, well-organized, powerhouse productivity guide. It’s earned an immediate place on my “must read” list and is well worth your time. The book is packed with advice you can easily put into practice and see results immediately.
You might find bits and pieces of Erica and Mike’s advice elsewhere; for example, Not Today’s GIA is reminiscent of Gary Keller’s ONE Thing and “If it’s not hung ho, it’s no” reminds me of Sivers’ “Hell Yeah or No”, which I haven’t read but heard him talk about on a podcast. In any case, I’ve not found another single source that so effectively combines this many good pieces of advice about how to productively go about your day.
These common threads are encouraging. When people across time and geography come to similar conclusions about how to live effectively I have more confidence in the conclusions.
The bottom line is this: if you’re going to read just one productivity book, I recommend this one.
