I’ve been noticing more and more occasions lately when “the hand of God”, for lack of a better term, was clearly present. A series of events seem to be arranged in such a way so as to convey a clear message.

Could I write these off as coincidence? Sure.

Is it possible that, with eight billion people in the world, so many things are happening at every moment that, just by chance, some of them seem to be planned? Sure.

Does that seem like a stretch to me? Definitely.

There’s too much smoke here for there to be no fire.

I don’t know what the fire is. Or who it is. Or when, or where, or why.

But there is something there. There are forces at work that I do not understand, whose motives I can only guess at.

I will say, though, that the messages always point to the “right” path. Sometimes they’re encouragement to do the harder, but more virtuous, thing. Other times they’re a reminder of a reason to be grateful.

Whether intentional or coincidental, either way they’re helpful. I intend to keep listening.

It is at different times in their lives that people find the influence of God.

Reading this blog post reminded me of the profound lines I read some time ago from Ben Franklin’s speech during the Philadelphia Convention in 1787: “The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see that God governs in the affairs of men. Without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel.”

Great quote, Kiran! Thanks for sharing. Always happy to gather some wisdom from Ben Franklin.
